
The Hotel General Manager Mr Sebastiano Siddi is proud to announce the appointment of Mr Alan Dann as the new Executive Head Chef of the Wynnstay Hotel. A member of the Master Chefs of Great Britain, Alan Dann is Shropshire’s most experienced Michelin Star Chef. He gained City and Guilds qualifications at catering college and went on to work in some of the world's finest restaurants in England and France. He was awarded his first Michelin Star in 1998 and has since been awarded the same accolade on two more occasions in England and France.
Alan started his career at the famous Roux Brothers Restaurant the Waterside Inn in Bray (3 Michelin Star), after three and half years he moved to France were he then spent two years at the Chapon Fin in Bordeaux (2 Michelin Star) before going on to the kitchens of Michel Geuard – the creator of cuisine minceur – at Eugenie les Bains (3 Michelin Star). A year at La Côte St Jacques (3 Michelin Star) at Joigny in Burgundy was followed by another year at Restaurant Pierre Gagnaire (3 Michelin) in St Etienne.
He returned to England in 1996 and took control of the Kitchens of Lower Slaughter Manor in the Cotswolds where he gained 2 Stars from Egon Ronay and his first Michelin Star. After setting up the Kitchen at the Lion and Pheasant in Shrewsbury, he got rewarded with 2 AA rosettes for fine food by the AA on their 1st visit.
With a passion for local produce, Alan is also part of the Heart of England Fine Foods, and he now looks forward to bringing his experience and food knowledge to the Wynnstay Hotel and hopes to put the Hotel and Oswestry on the Culinary Map.
The new appointment will help strengthen the quality of the Team here at the Wynnstay Hotel and with the 2 Michelin Star experienced Restaurant Manager Max Senatore, we will look to offer our customers the best dining experience in Shropshire.
